Production Ottawa is now ON STAGE: Ottawa's Theatre Arts Magazine

Ottawa Little Theatre Presents The Drawer Boy

We’ve reached the end of Ottawa Little Theatre’s trip through 100 seasons of successful community theatre here in the capital. Throughout this 100th season they’ve brought us ten plays from ten decades and we’re not at number ten. The Drawer Boy is an award-winning play by Michael Healey, last produced at OLT in 2007.

Mark Cano and Chantale Plante talk about The Drawer Boy and give you a peak at one of the scenes:

Production Ottawa takes a look at Ottawa Little Theatre's The Drawer BoyA young actor moves in with two aging farmers to gather stories about rural life for a play.  His attempts to fit into farm life amuse the farmers, and the audience, until the line between truth and fiction is crossed, and the lives of all three men are altered. Winner of the 1999 Governor General’s Literary Award for English-language drama.

The Drawer boy is written by Michael Healey and directed by Chantale Plante. It features what I’m sure is a great cast….

The show runs from August 6th through August 24th (Tuesday to Saturday) at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $25, with discounts for seniors and students. They can be purchased online at OLT’s website, by calling 613.233.8948, or at the box office at 400 King Edward Avenue.
