Two Great Musical Options for the Weekend

Is winter getting you down?  Looking for some cheering up?  It’s definitely a month for musicals in the city, and we’ve got two more to tell you about for this weekend.

Suzart 10th AnniversarySuzart Productions is celebrating their 10th Anniversary with an epic concert, consisting of samplings of musical numbers from the past decade.  And for a company that performs several shows a year, that’s bound to be a lot of music!  There will be two shows at Centrepointe Theatre (101 Centrepointe Drive); January 19th at 7:30 pm and a matinee January 20th at 1:30pm.  Tickets are $27.50, with discounts for students/seniors and can be purchased through the Centrepointe website or at the theatre.

Or… take in The Church of Karaoke: A Musical, a fundraising performance for Queenswood United Church.  The show is described as follows:

Church of KaraokeCome hear a musical story of a young man whose dream is to succeed at his audition for a brand new musical, but falls into a deep sleep where he does all of his soul searching in a karaoke bar and in church in a dream. The show is playing at Shenkman Arts Centre on January 19th at 7:30 pm and January 20th at 2:30 pm.  Tickets are $25.10 and are available for purchase on the Shenkman website or at the theatre.
