Opera Lyra presents Cinderella

This weekend, Opera Lyra offers a musical theatre event for the whole family:  An abridged version of Giaochino Rossini’s Cinderella, adapted by Ann Hodges, running at about an hour long.

Cinderella works as a drudge in the home of her step-father and two step-sisters.  Her beautiful song about a king who finds his wife among the common people foretells the future; although she does not know it.  After confusion and complications at the ball, Cinderella’s goodness triumphs and she is rewarded.

Our version differs slightly from the story we all know and love, but it is sure to captivate all - young and old!
